Tell Saudi Arabia to cancel G4S Hajj contract

Saudi Arabia is using G4S to manage the annual Hajj pilgrimage crowds this year despite the fact that the private security company helps Israel run its checkpoints and the prisons at which Palestinian political prisoners are held without trial and subjected to torture.

G4S also has contracts with the Israeli police, known for its repression of Palestinians, in particular daily violations against worshippers at the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. G4S is an active accomplice to Israel’s apartheid system over the Palestinian people.

Saudi Arabia should not be rewarding G4S with a lucrative multi-million dollar contract to secure the Hajj.

At a press conference last week, Sheikh Ekrima Sa'id Sabri, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine and representatives from the Palestinian BDS National Committee and Addameer, the Palestinian prisoner human rights campaign, called on Saudi Arabia to drop its contract with G4S.
